Use this Checklist before Acquiring External Control with Trimble Survey Grade GPS
Equipment Checklist:
- Trimble gear (this list depends on the situation, so you may not need all of this)
- Base station (can set up one or two base stations)
- Trimbel 5700 receiver
- Two internal Trimble batteries
- Optional external Trimble battery
- Long yellow cable for connecting to antenna
- Trimble Zephyr antenna
- Brass fitting for attaching to tripod
- Trimble fixed height tripod
- Trimble TSCe controller
- Trimble data cable for connecting to receiver
- Trimbel 5700 receiver
- Rover
- Trimble 5800 (receiver and antenna in one)
- Two internal batteries
- Trimble data cable for connecting to controller
- Trimble fixed height bipod
- TSCe controller
- Controller mount for attaching controller to bidpod
- Trimble 5800 (receiver and antenna in one)
- Radio
- Base station (can set up one or two base stations)
- Simple camera
- Charge all batteries (individual internal batteries, the controller, the external battery, camera)
Strategy checklist:
- How many control points are necessary? and where should these control points be?
- Will differentially correct real-time or in the lab? How much time should you spend at each point?
- Where should the base station be located? and can I easily set up over that point again in the future?
- Are there other base stations in the area that can be used?
- How many satellites will be overhead and what will the PDOP be? (Trimble Planning Software)
